ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PRESIDENT'S COMMISSION ON CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROTECTION REPORT

WHAT: Former Senator Sam Nunn and former Deputy Attorney General Jamie Gorelick will co-chair an Advisory Committee meeting to make recommendations to the Cabinet Secretaries on implementation of the Commission's report. The President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection completed its final report, entitled Critical Foundations, in October 1997.

Issues to be discussed include:

  • Reviewing the top ten recommendations;
  • Establishing the public/private partnership;
  • Developing an effective structure for national information sharing;
  • Evaluating R&D proposals;
  • Reviewing legal impediments involving assurance issues.
