Peter H. Daly
Commissioner
Peter H. Daly has served with the U.S. Treasury for 31 years, largely in
executive positions of progressive authority and responsibility. Prior
to becoming a Commissioner, he was the senior advisor in the Office of
the Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer,
Department of the Treasury. This office specialized in electronic money
policy issues as they affected Treasury-wide fiscal, law enforcement, and
financial system operations. From 1988 to 1995, he was Director of the
U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, where he represented Treasury on a
variety of payment system issues to the Federal Reserve, national
security and law enforcement agencies, and central banks in every region
of the world.
During his career at the Treasury he has led U.S. delegations and
participated in international monetary conferences throughout the
Americas, Europe and Asia and has consulted with many major foreign
governments. He was a participant with the Financial Services Volunteer
Corps in Eastern Europe in 1994.
Mr. Daly is a guest lecturer in management at the John F. Kennedy School
of Government at Harvard, an advisor at the Kennedy School/Ford
Foundation Program Innovations in American Government, and a faculty
advisor at Harvard's advanced executive development programs. From 1991
to 1993, he served as Chairman of the Board of Grandma's Houses -- a series
of Washington, D.C. facilities for the care of border babies, abused
children, and the disabled elderly.
Mr. Daly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Villanova
University, and has done graduate work at several universities with
Honors standings. He has professional publications in economics and
management.
