| Event: | More than 250 presenters and panel members and 1,600 attendees from the public and private sectors will attend the 20th National Information Systems Security Conference. They will debate issues such as information security in health care, cryptography policy, wireless fraud, the Computer Security Act and the future of the Internet. Participants also will discuss many other topics, including secure electronic commerce, web security, and privacy and liability issues. The conference is sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the National Security Agency's National Computer Security Center.
A special session on the National Information Assurance Partnership, a new federally sponsored partnership to develop objective measures and test methods for evaluating the quality of information technology security products, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7. Reporters are invited to a media roundtable about this partnership at 1 p.m. on October 7. |

| Speakers: | Tom Marsh, chairman of the President's Commission on Critical Infrastructure
Protection, will present the keynote address at the opening plenary session, 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7.
Bran Ferren, executive vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering, will speak on Wednesday, October 8, at the 7 p.m. banquet at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor. |
