4. You must report this even though it seems like a minor offense and no formal charges were made. Any arrest, criminal charge or detention by any local, state or federal law enforcement authority must be reported to your security office. Some organizations require that such brushes with the law be reported within two working days. They must be reported regardless of whether you were later released without charges or the charges were dismissed for lack of evidence.
Minor traffic violations are the only exception to this reporting requirement. Some organizations define a minor violation as one for which the penalty is a fine of $150 or less.
