Dear Colleague,

The capability to influence a target audience is increasingly critical to mission success. It is essential that IO practitioners use the right tools, coordinate them effectively and ensure cohesive message is delivered across different agencies and across coalitions. Information Operations Europe 2008 will build upon the major discussions from last year and offer fresh insight from the French MoD, Israeli Defence Forces, Canadian Forces and Office of the Under Secretary of Defence for Intelligence in the US DoD. Conference highlights include:

  • Strategic level policy updates: Understand the future shape of information operations and the major initiatives taking place in the major commands and directorates

  • The role of Contractors in IO: An exclusive briefing from US Army 1st IO Command describing the role of contractors and specific areas where industry can contribute to military efforts

  • Measurement of Effect: Gain insight into creative solutions to polling in hostile environments, the work of NATO Research and Technology Organisation’s MoE Task Group and the German Armed Force’s efforts to measure the success of influence activities in Regional Command North, Afghanistan

  • Coordination of Information Strategies across Departments: Exclusive briefings detailing US and UK efforts to coordinate cohesive messages and harness all assets for Influence

  • Coordination of Information Strategies across Coalitions: Understand this key initiative at US STRATCOM Joint Information Operations Warfare Command

  • Lessons Learned from Theatre: Analysis of the challenges faced by commanders and IO practitioners in theatre, with case studies from Afghanistan, Iraq, Chad and Lebanon
